It is weird but it is reported from Tollywood that actress Keerthy Suresh is all set to play the daughter-in-law of contemporary actress Nayantara in an upcoming biopic on the life and times of deceased former Andhra Pradesh chief-minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who died of a mysterious chopper crash some years back.
Titled as Yatra, the film is to be helmed by Maggi Raghav who also pens the story, screenplay and dialogues. It has been announced that the film’s shoot is to commence in a few months’ time and by the second-half of this year.
Mammootty to play Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the film and Nayantara, who had starred opposite him in Malayalam, would play Reddy’s wife in the film in what would be Mollywood megastar Mammootty’s first Telugu film after 20 years. Keerthy Suresh is in talks to play Reddy’s son Jagan’s wife Barathi in the film.
Keerthy, who has just wrapped up the shoot of her upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual boipic Mahanati (Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil) on the late actress Savitri, is likely to say ‘yes’ to the offer of starring in another biopic. However, it remains to be seen whether Nayan would agree to having Keerthy Suresh as her daughter-in-law in the film!
