Superstar Rajinikanth was paid a visit to his Poes Garden residence in Chenai by burly film-maker Karthik Subbaraj, who would be directing the ‘man of the masses’ in his next directorial venture.
As informed earlier in these columns, young Karthik Subbaraj has got the ‘golden chance’ of his life to direct Rajini in his next film which hasn’t been titled as yet. Dream of debutant directors as well as established directors in Kollywood is that they should get at least one chance to direct Rajini in their films.
Karthik, who has only directed Pizza, Jigarthanda, Iraivi and the soon-to-be-released Prabhu Deva-starrer and ‘silent’ horror film Mercury, gets to direct Rajini in only his fifth film as a film-maker. Sun Pictures, which produced the super-duper 2010 Rajini hit film Enthiran: The Robot, steps in again to make a Rajini-starrer almost after a decade.
It turns out that Karthik had narrated the script of the film to Rajini three years back when Kabali was in the making. It is only now that Rajini has given the ‘nod’ to star in his script. Karthik and Rajini reportedly discussed ways of fine-tuning the script and about the heroine, other actors/actresses and technicians to work in the project.
