Actress Rani Mukherjee, whose latest film Hichki released in theatres across the country on Friday last, has regretted that actress Sridevi wasn’t alive to watch it.
Rani Mukherjee’s power-packed performance in the film directed by Siddharth Malhotra has won her rave reviews and initial reports have pointed out that the film had opened to very good response from audiences and Rani Mukherjee’s ‘die-hard’ fans. It may be recalled that Rani had earlier hinted that she might consider quitting acting if Hichki didn’t do well in theatres.
“I grew up watching Sridevi’s amazing performances in films such as Chandni and Lamhe. I had watched shoot of her films when I was in School. Her demise is a huge personal loss to me. I and Sridevi became very close friends after the birth of my daughter Aadhira. She gave me plenty of tips on motherhood and parenting and we were very close indeed.
“I had lost two important persons in my life during the past two months: my father and Sridevi. A fortnight before her untimely and unexpected demise, Sridevi had expressed her desire to watch Hichki but unfortunately, it didn’t become a reality,” concludes Rani Mukherjee, tears welling up in her eyes.
