Theaters in Tamil Nadu have decided to shut down from March 16. Theaters owners said that they are going to soon meet the Tamil Nadu Government to reduce the local body entertainment tax to 8% and if there is no favorable solution, theaters will be shut down from March 16.
Tamil Film Producers Council has also taken a decision to not host film-related events like audio launches and promotional press meets during the strike period. Tamil Film Producers have stopped the release of new films because of the unreasonable price quoted by digital service providers.
Except for Tamil Nadu, all other states in India are fine with the existing charges of digital service providers.
