The muhurat of actor Karthi’s latest film was conducted on Saturday (03rd March) in the presence of his elder brother and actor Suriya.
Karthi is presently starring in Kadaikutty Singam which has been directed by Pandiraj, whose 2009 debut directorial venture fetched him the national award for ‘best feature film in Tamil’ as well as the national award for ‘best screenplay’. Stunning-looking Sayyeshaa Sehgal and television anchor-turned-actress Priya Bhavani Shankar play the two heroines in the film which has music by D. Imman.
It was in this backdrop that the muhurat of Karthi’s next film, untitled as yet, was held on Saturday. To be directed by debutant Rajath Ravishankar, the film brings together Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh for the second time in two years after last year’s Theeran Adhikaaran Ondru. Karthik, who played a major role in Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Koottam, plays a pivotal in Ravishankar’s Karthi-starrer.
Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, RJ Vignesh, Amrutha and Renuka play prominent roles in the film which has music by Harris Jayraj. This would be the first time that Harris, who has scored music for many of Suriya’s films, gets to score the music for a Karthi-starrrer which would also be the 17th film of his career. Rooben would be the film’s editor while director-cinematographer R. Velraj would handle the camera.
S. Lakshmankumr’s Princi Pictures (producer of Singam 2 and Mohini) would be producing the film for Reliance Entertainment. The film is to be shot lavishly at the Himalayas and in some European countries. The shoot gets underway from Thursday (08th March) as the first schedule is to take place in Europe after which the crew would move to Hyderabad, Mumbai and the Himalayas.
