Jyothika’s Next Film, Tamil Remake of Tumhari Sulu, Titled as Ungal Jo

It is reported from reliable sources that actress Jyothika’s next film has been titled as Ungal Jo.

Jyothika, who commenced her ‘second innings’ in films more than two years back with Rosshan Andrews’ 36 Vayadhinile (remake of the Malayalam hit film How Old Are You) in 2015, starred in Magalir Mattum last year and won laurels from movie-goers and critics for her cop’s portrayal in Bala’s Naachiyaar which released a few weeks back.

She has also been signed up to star in her first-ever film to be directed by Mani Ratnam with Chekka Civantha Vaanam which has Arvind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Arun Vijay Aishwarya Rajesh in the main cast. Except Arvind Swamy, none of the lead actors had earlier worked with Mani Ratnam in the past and as such, the film has lots of ‘hidden’ excitement to it.

Suresh Triveni directed national award-winning actress Vidya Balan in the recent hit film Tumhari Sulu, which is to be remade/directed by Radhamohan (of Mozhi fame) in Kollywood. Jyothika would be reprising Vidya Balan’s role in the Tamil version titled as Ungal Jo and would be essaying a housewife ‘Sulochana’ who aspires to become a Radio Jockey.
