Rajini’s Kaala Pushes Release of Mohanlal’s New Film by a Week

Theatrical release of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kaala in Kerala has reportedly ‘pushed’ the release of megastar Mohanlal’s upcoming film by a week in Kerala as theatres in Kerala vie with each other to release Rajini’s new films.

Directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Rajini’s son-in-law and national award-winning actor Dhanush, Kaala now appears to overtake Rajini’s Shankar-directed film 2.0 in releasing in theatres. The VFX work relating to 2.0 hasn’t yet been completed as per planned schedule and this might allow Rajini to get his Kaala releasead first.

Kaala, as already reported, brings together Rajini and Pa. Ranjith for the second time in two years after their 2016 colossal hit film Kabali. 27th April is the date on which Kaala would hit the screens worldwide and Kerala is no exception thus forcing Neerali, the Mohanlal-starrer, to release at least a week later.

Directed by Ajay Verma, the shoot of Neerali has been wrapped up in quick time in just 36 days and the crew was planning to release the film towards end-April. Now that Rajini’s Kaala would be releasing on 27th April, the Mohanlal-starrer would release either on 03rd April or on 10th April, it is pointed out.
