Ace film-maker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming directorial venture, which he also produces under his banner ‘Madras Talkies’, has been titled as Chekka Chivantha Vaanam!
The film has Arvind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi, Silambarasan, Arun Vijay (who has replaced Fahadh Faasil), Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh and Aditi Rao Hydari (remember last year’s Kaatru Veliyidai heroine?) in the lead. Except Aditi and Arvind Swamy (who has starred in quite a few films directed by Mani Ratnam), it would be the first time that others would be working in a film to be directed by Mani Ratnam.
Mani is under pressure to deliver a hit as Kaatru Veliyidai bombed at the box-office last y ear. A.R. Rahman, Santhosh Shivan and Sreekar Prasad would be the music director, cinematographer and editor (respectively in that order) of Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam whose first-look poster was formally released yesterday.
Vijay Sethupathi reportedly plays a cop in the film. His role is said to have been ‘elongated’ and what roles do Arun Vijay and Silambarasan besides Arvind Swamy would get to play in the film have not yet been revealed.
