It is reported that the huge box-office success of actress Anushka’s latest film Bhaagamathie is said to have rattled quite a few Tamil and Telugu frontline heroes.
Anushka, Nayantara, Trisha and Bollywood’s Vidya Balan and Radhika Apte are keen to star only in heroine-oriented scripts. Anushka takes the cake among them as she does so with aplomb both in Tamil and Telugu films. She was part of colossal hit films such as Baahubali and Baahubali 2 in the past couple of years but both these films were not entirely Anushka’s films as they had Prabhas and Rana in lead roles.
Known for starring in heroine-oriented scripts such as Arundhati, Rudramadevi and Size Zero, Anushka returned back in style to playing ‘solo lead’ with Bhaagamathie which released in theatres a few weeks back. Released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, the film has already been declared as ‘super-hit’, riding mostly on Anushka’s stardom and the weight of her performance.
In fact, Anushka-starrer Bhaagamathie has pipped two more heroes’ films at the box-office, thus making them and others feel uneasy about her growing star power. The actress, who is in her mid-thirties, still continues to get woman-oriented scripts and is likely to star in films in a few more years contrary to the situation which prevailed a few months back!
