Pipping Anushka Shetty and Keerth Suresh who were in contention to play Ajith Kumar’s heroine in his upcoming film Viswasam to be directed by the actor’s favourite director Shiva, actress Shraddha Srinath is said to have succeeded in getting the crew’s attention as she has been cast opposite Ajith Kumar in this film which is to go to floors towards the end of this month.
Surprising his fans in particular and movie-goers in general Ajith announced a few weeks back that he would be joining hands with Shiva for the fourth time after Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam for yet another film titled as Viswasam. Ajith’s fans felt shocked as Ajith-Shiva’s latest venture Vivegam didn’t yield as much profit as expected. Ajith reasoned it out stating that he wanted to let Shiva to and direct other actors only after giving a hit film so that he is welcomed by all actors/actresses.
The script of the film, which would have music by Anirudh Ravichander, is reportedly set in the backdrop of (notorious) North Chennai with Ajith essaying a full-fledged don’s character, an extension of what he did briefly in Shiva’s Vedalam. Aathmika of Meesaiya Murukku fame and Vijay Yesudas are said to be in contention play a pivotal role and the antagonist (respectively in that order) in Viswasam.
The crew might shoot non-stop for 5 months from 22nd February onwards to wrap up the film’s shoot by end-July so as to release it on Deepavali. The Vikram Vedha actress, in the meantime, is said to be ‘over the Moon’ for having bagged a film opposite ‘Thala’ Ajith Kumar!
