Comedian Vaiyapuri has lamented that his ‘Bigg Boss’ mates are not picking his phone calls when he attempts to talk to them.
It may be noted that Vaiyapuri, who is in his late forties, wasn’t a natural ‘in-mate’ of last year’s hugely successful ‘Bigg Boss’ reality television show hosted for Vijay TV by actor-politician Kamal Haasan, modeled on the lines of such reality shows on Hindi and English channels. It was, however, a huge cultural ‘shock’ for Tamil audiences to see a bunch of men and women being forced to spend days together at an alien place.
Vaiyapuri, however, sustained himself by staying at the ‘Bigg Boss’ house (somewhere in EVP Garden off Chennai) for more than 80 days, with help and encouragement from his fellow ‘in-mates’ who were Sakthi Vasu, Gayathrie Raghuram, Bindu Madhavi, model-actress Raiza, actor Ganesh Venkatraman, actress Kajal Pasupathi and the title-winner and model Aarav. Vaiyapuri undertook his ‘tasks’ reluctantly but came out triumphs each time.
When he exited the show, he said that he had learnt ‘many things’ from his stay at the House which he would be using in his life. Vaiyapuri has now completed the shoot of his portions in his upcoming film Kalakalappu 2; many in-mates of the House have got good film offers and commercials, thanks to the popularity they earned during the show.
During his recent chat with presspersons, Vaiyapuri lamented that the in-mates of the House are not picking up his calls whenever he tries to get in touch with them, which is in sharp contrast to the camaraderie that the in-mates displayed during the show.
