Actor Ajith Kumar’s decision to work for his fourth film – Viswasam – with director Shiva in his untitled upcoming venture surprised his fans, well-wishers and industry folks as the much-touted and much-expected Vivegam under the Ajith-Shiva combo failed to deliver the goods at the box-office last year.
Ajith and Shiva have forged a successful hero-director combination by delivering a hat-trick of films in Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam. While the first two films were super-hit ventures, Vivegam faltered at the box-office despite its pre-release publicity and expectations. The action-packed venture, shot mostly in Europe, somehow didn’t go down well with Ajith’s fans and his strong support-base of family audiences.
That Ajith decided to work with Shiva again in Viswasam and that too soon after the not-so-successful Vivegam confused his fans who blamed – though not in public or in social networking sites –their ‘Thala’ for not paying heed to their wishes about whom he should be working with.
It now turns out that Ajith purposely chose Shiva for Viswasam as he wanted the latter to ‘part with him’ as a successful director (after delivering a hit film) so that his reputation would be intact when Shiva goes to work with other heroes in future; Ajith’s reasoning has moved his fans!
