Kamal’s Kaakki Sattai to Be Digitized and Released in March

Following the trend of releasing old films in their digitized version, Kamal Haasan’s 1985 hit film Kaakki Sattai is to be converted into digitized mode and released widely in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere in March this year.

MGR’s Enga Veettu Pillai, Adimai Penn, Ulagam Sutttrum Valiban and Aayiraththil Oruvan courted huge successes at the box-office when (re)released in recent times in their digitized versions. Sivaji Ganesan’s Karnan, Vasantha Maligai and Sivagamiyin Sabatham and superstar Rajinikanth’s Baashaah were also digitized and released in recent years and met with tremendous response from their fans and movie-goers.

Work is now on to digitize Kamal Haasan’s 1985 hit film Kaakki Sattai produced by Sathya Movies and directed by Rajasekhar, who had also directed Rajini in quite a few films including Padikkadhavan and Maaveeran. Starring Kamal Haasan, Ambika, Madhavi, Sathyaraj, Rajeev and Bob Cristo in the lead and with mesmerizing music by ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja, the film was a runaway hit when it released in 1985.

The digitized version of Kaakki Sattai is to be released across the globe by Darwin Pictures which has already located theatres in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and elsewhere to (re)release the film.
