Actor-politician Vijayakanth’s youngest son Shanmuga Pandian would have a grand Pongal this year as his Madura Veeran would join the films of his illustrious contemporaries such as Vikram, Suriya, Vimal and Prabhu Deva.
Directed by P.G. Muthiah, Madura Veeran has Shanmuga Pandian, Meenatchi and Samuthirakani in prominent roles and is said to be based on the valour-filled Tamil traditional sporting event of Jallikkattu.
The film was cleared by the Censors yesterday with a ‘U’ certificate sans any cuts following which the makers have announced that it would be hitting the screens on Friday (12th January).
Vikram-Tamannaah’s Sketch, Suriya-Keerthy Suresh’s Thaana Serndha Koottam, Vimal-Anandhi-Chandini’s Mannar Vagera and Prabhu Deva-Hansika’s Gulebakavali are the other films releasing on Pongal.
