It is reported that actor ‘Jayam’ Ravi’s upcoming film titled as Tik Tik Tik (title same as a Kamal Haasan-starrer which released in the early eighties) would be music director D. Imman’s 100th film as a music composer.
Imman, who is the first-choice of low and medium-budget film-makers, is probably the busiest music director in Kollywood. He has his hands full with his assignments with many film-makers. After learning formal music, Imman became a key-board player when he was 15 and debuted as music director with actress Kutti Padmini’s tele-serial Krishnadasi more than a decade back.
Singaram, Kolangal, Mugangal, Agalya, Kalki, Alli Rajyam, Thirumathi Selvam, Vasantham, Uravugal and Chellame were other tele-serials for which Imman scored the title-tracks and background score before finally making film debut with Kadhale Swasam. Tamizhan, Sena, Whistle and ‘action king’ Arjun’s Giri were the medium budget films which helped him initially in finding his fee in the industry.
It was Prabhu Solomon’s Mynaa which put Imman in the big league as he continued to give quality songs in Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Jilla, Romeo Juliet, Miruthan and Bogan. Imman has been greeted by celebrities within and outside the film industry for having touched the landmark of 100 films as a music composer.
