Vishal-samantha’s Irumbu Thirai to Release on R-day in January

It is reported that actor-producer Vishal’s upcoming film Irumbu Thirai is all set to release on Republic Day (26th January).

Helmed by debutant director P.S. Mithran who has also penned the film’s story, screenplay and dialogues, Irumbu Thirai brings together Vishal and Samantha for the first time on-screen and would also mark the release in theatres of Samantha’s first Tamil film after her October marriage to Tollywood’s Naga Chaitanya.

Irumbu Thirai is Vishal’s second successive home production after Thupparivaalan which released a few months back. The film’s title is borrowed from a 1960 black-and-white film which starred the late Sivaji Ganesan in the lead. Beside the lead pair, ‘action king’ Arjun plays a prominent role as Vishal’s antagonist in the film. The film’s post-production work has been going in at a hectic pace now.

A few promotional posters released by Vishal on his Twitter account reveal that the name of his character in the film would be ‘Major Kathiravan’ and that Samantha plays ‘Dr. Rathi Devi’, a psychiatrist, in the film which has music by ‘Junior Maestro’ Yuvan Shankar Raja. Samantha glows in her post-marriage looks in saree, making her fans wait ‘impatiently’ for the film to release in a about a month’s time from now!
