Actress Riythvika has said that she is indeed waiting for an opportunity to star opposite Vijay Sethupathi, the ‘man on the move’ in Tamil films for the past few years.
The actress, who has starred in Bala’s Paradesi, Nelson’s Oru Naal Kooththu and Pa. Ranjith’s superstar Rajini-starrer Kabali, comes across as an easy-moving individual who spoke freely about many issues during a recent interview. The 25-year old actress, born and brought up in Chennai, did her graduation at SIET College in Teynampet in Chennai.
“I started starring in short-films when I was in final year graduation. My friends encouraged me and I got the offer of Bala Sir at that time to star in Paradesi. I learnt a lot during the making of the film. I was initially apprehensive of working in a top director’s film but soon put it behind and concentrated on the job on hand.
“I did Madras and Rajini Sir’s Kabali in Ranjith’s direction. It was a very nice experience as Ranjith ensured that each and every sequence was thoroughly rehearsed before it was shot officially. It was a dream-come-true occasion for me to star alongside Rajini Sir in Kabali; I was nervous initially but Rajini Sir put me at ease by conversing very naturally with me.
“I want my films to release on D-Days such as Deepavali and Pongal, something which has never occurred so far in my career. I’m hoping it would occur soon,” she said.
On another note, she added that cinema is a very health profession for anybody and it is also the best medium to reach out to the people. “I want to star opposite Vijay Sethupathi in the near future and I’m sure my wish would be fulfilled soon,” she says.
