Superstar Rajinikanth’s millions of fans the world over were not amused when the promotional poster of actor Arya’s upcoming film Gajinikanth was released a couple of days back.
Directed by Hara Hara Mahadevaki fame Santhosh P. Jayakumar, Gajinikanth brings Arya and the stunning Sayyeshaa (of Vanamagan fame) for the first time on-screen and if the posters are anything to go by, the duo seems to be sharing a sizzling chemistry between them.
A poster of the film, produced by Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja, depicts Arya in a get-up reminiscent of Rajini’s looks in his late eighties hit film Dharmathin Thalaivan. Rajini essayed the dual roles of a forgetful professor and a rowdy who later mends himself. Arya’s unmistakable depiction resembling Rajini’s looks haven’t amused Rajini’s fans who only view this as a mockery of Rajini.
Balamurali scores the music of the film which is the Tamil remake of last year’s Telugu hit film Bhale Bhale Magadivoy which starred Nani and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead. Sathish and Karunakaran are the two comedians in the film whose shoot is currently in progress in picturesque locals of Thailand.
“I’m shooting with a mischievous and lovable co-star (Arya),” Sayyeshaa has said while releasing the poster on her Twitter account.
