Superstar Rajinikanth’s 67th birthday was celebrated with usual fanfare by his millions of fans in Chennai and elsewhere in Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country.
Unlike he did during the past few years of his birthday, Rajini didn’t meet his fans this year. Rajini’s pronouncements during the past few months had given ample hints to his fans about his much-awaited and much-delayed political entry.
Fans pasted posters and erected digital banners wishing the ‘man of the masses’ a happy birthday, titling him as ‘future chief-minister’. Fans congregated in huge numbers outside Rajinikanth’s Poes Garden residence in Chennai to wish him a happy birthday though it remained highly certain whether Rajini was in town or not.
Fans from Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram and other Districts congregated in huge numbers, making it tough for the police to keep them at bay. They were told by the Police that Rajini was away in Bangalore but still they didn’t move away.
Special ‘pooja’ was also conducted at prominent temples in Chennai and elsewhere across the State wishing a happy, long life for the conductor-turned-superstar!
