A case has been filed against piracy leader ‘Tamlrockers.com’ for releasing on its website newly-released films in an illegal manner.
Rajasekar, one of the members of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC), filed a case with the police requesting for action against the owners of the website ‘Tamilrockers.com’ for continually releasing brand new films on its site, thus depriving producers, theatre-owners and distributors their opportunities to earn profits by releasing and distributing new films.
Rajasekar cited the example of actor-producer Udhayanidhi’s Ippadai Vellum which released in theatres on 09th November but its pirated version was available on ‘Tamilrockers.com’ site within five days i.e. from 14th November onwards, thus depriving the producer and others their right to earn profits by formally releasing the film in theatres.
Stating that the site is practicing the habit of releasing new films on the site soon after the release in theatres of new films, Rajasekar had demanded immediate action against the site’s operators. Based on his complaint, police has registered a case and are investigating further.
