12 Tamil films including the successful Madhavan-Vijay Sethupathi starrer Vikram Vedha and Nayantara’s recent hit film Aramm have been chosen to be screened under the ‘Tamil films category during the ensuing 15th International Film Festival to be held in Chennai from 14-21 December.
The annual affair, to be conducted under the aegis of ‘Cine Appreciation Foundation’, would take place at cinema halls/campuses such as Devi, Devibala, Sathyam, Casino and Anna besides at the Tagore Film Centre and the Russian Centre of Sciences & Culture in Chennai.
8 Thottakkal, Aramm, Kadugu, Kurangu Bommai, Maanagaram, Magalir Mattum, Manushangada, Oru Kidariyin Karunai Manu, Oru Kuppai Kadhai, Taramani, Vishal’s Thupparivaalan and Madhavan-Vijay Sethupathi’s Vikram Vedha have been chosen to be screened during the Festival.
Films chosen to be screened under the ‘Indian Panorama’ category include Newton (Hindi), Railway Children (Kannada), Village Rockstars (Assamese), Take Off (Malayalam), Bisorjon (Bengali), Redu (Marathi), Idak (Marathi), Khyanikaa (Oriya), Juze (Konkani) and Paper (Kannada). My Son is Gay has been chosen for ‘special screening’.
The inauguration of the Film Festival is to be held in a grand manner at the Kalaivanar Arangam on 14th December (next Thursday).
