No more ad films for me from now onwards: Sivakarthikeyan

Actor Sivakarthikeyan has vowed to himself that he would never star in any ad films from now onwards.

Sivakarthikeyan’s assurance came during the audio-launch of his upcoming film Velaikkaran held on Sunday night at a glittering function in Chennai. Popular TV anchor-turned-actress Divyadarshini compered the event. Sivakarthikeyan’s speech was easily the highlight of the audio-launch.

“After I was mightily impressed by ‘Jayam’ Raja’s Thani Oruvan, I rang him up and expressed my wish to do one such film in his direction. I also met him in person with this request to which he agreed. When we met, we decided to have the title Velaikkaran for our film, though we knew that it was the title of a super-duper hit Thalaivar film.

“I learnt a lot from Fahadh Faasil during the film’s making. I was impressed by Nayantara’s punctuality in reporting for shoot at the sets. I’m also aware of comments on social media that Sivakarthikeyan can’t survive without Anirudh Ravichander’s music. So be it: this is my 11th film while for Anirudh, it would be his 15th film.

“I have taken a conscious decision not to star in ad films in future as I don’t want people to be misled by the advertisements and slogans. Velaikkaran also made me a better person and I’m thankful to all for the smooth completion of the film,” he said.
