Taking criticism of films and artistes to a dangerous level, the ‘Rajput Karni Seva’ has threatened to ‘chop off the nose’ of Bollywood’s Hollywood-bound actress Deepika Padukone, daughter of champion badminton player Prakash Padukone, for starring in the soon-to-be-released Bollywood venture Padmavati.
The Sena had earlier physically assaulted Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director of the film and is now threatening to chop off Deepika’s nose. Padmavati is the biopic of former Chitoor (Rajasthan) Queen Padmavti. Criticism has been leveled against Bhansali stating that he had shown the Queen’s character in poor light. The Sena has also said that it won’t allow the film’s screening.
Mahipal Singh of the Sena said that “Rajputs are courageous souls and don’t cause any harm to women in particular. However, if the film is released, we would chop off Deepika Padukone’s nose!”
In the meantime, it is said that the film’s scheduled date of release in theatres on 01st December might be delayed as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has just returned Bhansali’s application (for censorship) citing technical deficiencies.
