Sophita Dhupibala Plays a Sex-worker in Her Debut Malayalam Film

25-year old Tenali-born sizzing Sophita Dhupibala, a former ‘Miss India’ pageant winner and a Telugu and Hindi film actress, is all set to make her debut in Malayalam films with an upcoming film titled as Moothon. She plays a sex-worker in the film.

A former Kingfisher Calendar girl, the actress has an enviable hourglass figure to go with her pretty face and a degree in economics and commerce. She now has a film each in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam to keep her busy for the next few months.

Moothon is actually a Malayalam-Hindi bilingual fantasy advanture which has her romancing frontline Mollywood actor Nivin Pauly. Shashank Arora, Harish Khanna, Alancier Ley Lopez, Sujith Shankar and Soubin Shahir play prominent roles in the film which is directed by actress-turned-director Geetu Mohandas. Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap pens the film’s screenplay.

A trained classical dancer in ‘Bharatnatyam’ and ‘Kuchipudi’ the actress plays a sex-worker in the film, thus proving her courage by taking up this role in her first film in an alien language. She discussed the ‘occupational hazards’ of the profession with real-life sex-workers in Mumbai and Hyderabad and added that the inputs she received from them were ‘overwhelmingly’ emotional and helpful.
