Till a few years ago, actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar (daughter of ‘supreme star’ and actor-politician Sarathkumar) wasn’t a busy heroine in Tamil films but today, she happens to be the busiest heroine around!
What is the reason for the turn-around in fortunes for this pretty-looking actress who is 32 years of age but looks younger than her age? It is the self-belief in her ability to deliver when the right chances are offered. The actress, who debuted as heroine in Tamil films opposite Simbu in Vignesh Shivan’s debut directorial venture Poda Podi opposite Simbu in 2012, has come a long way as an actress.
Her dance in last year’s Tharai Thappattai earned her laurels after which she went on a slimming diet to knock off the flab around her waist. She now has as many as eight films on hand including Sandakozhi 2, Echcharikkai, Sathya, Kadhal Mannan, Shakthi, Mr. Chandramouli, Ammayi and the long-delayed Madha Gaja Raja opposite Vishal.
Except in one film, Varalaxmi has shared screen-space with other heroines in all the above-said films. She doesn’t bother about whether she plays the solo heroine or not but bothers only about her character in the script which has made her very busy these days!
Way to go, Varu!
