Tamilisai demands removal of anti-GST dialogues from Mersal

Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has demanded scrapping or deletion of anti-GST dialogues from actor Vijay’s Deepavali release Mersal.

Released day-before-yesterday on 18th October on the occasion of Deepavali across the State and elsewhere, Vijay’s Mersal is said to be doing very well at all the places it was released. Directed by Atlee Kumar, the film reportedly has many dialogues against the Centre’s recently-introduced uniform tax regime GST as well as other people-centric schemes of the Modi-led BJP at the Centre.

‘Digital India’ project has also not been spared by the film’s dialogue-writer. The dialogues compare India with Singapore which also implements GST but in a humane manner. Speaking to newsmen after distributing anti-dengue Nilavembu Kashayam o the residents of Tiruvotriyur in Chennai, Tamilisai said that a case would be filed against Mersal’s screening if the film-maker didn’t delete anti-GST dialogues soon.

“In his ambition to take to politics, Vijay has been spreading wrong information through his films,” she said even as social networking sites are busy with supporting and opposing Vijay’s anti-Centre dialogues in the film.
