Actor Vijay Sethupathi has decided to turn producer of his upcoming film Junga which is likely to be made at a cost of Rs.20 crores.
Junga would be director Gokul’s next film after Vijay Sethupathi-Nandita Swethat starrer Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara and the Karthi-Nayantara-Nithya Menon starrer Kaashmora. The crew has announced that Junga would be the sequel to the super-duper hit film Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara.
Picture-perfect Sayyeshaa Sehgal, who made a promising debut as heroine in Kollywood by pairing up opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi in director A.L. Vijay’s Vanamagan a few months back, gets her second Tamil film in Junga where she would be romancing Vijay Sethupathi, easily the busiest actor in K-Town.
“Vijay had told me earlier that we should again work together and I promised him that I’d revert back once the script was ready. When I was ready with Junga’s script, I got back to him and narrated the script. He heard the full script, thought for a few moments and said that he would produce the film on his own. The film’s budget is put at Rs.20 crores and would be Vijay Sethupathi’s most expensive film as on date.
“We plan to shoot 60% of the film in France and in other parts of Europe before returning to shoot in Chennai, Tuticorin and Ramanathapuram. Yogi Babu would play the comedian in the film and we haven’t yet finalized other artistes and technicians. The first schedule of the film is to commence in a few weeks’ time,” concludes Gokul who also revealed that the first-look posters of the film would be released on Deepavali (18th October).
