Lawyer-turned-actress Shraddha hopes to become a director soon

Shraddha Srinath, who has impressed Tamil youths and audiences with a powerful role in the successful Vikram Vedha, turns out to be a multi-faceted and mightily talented individual. The actress, who has a natural creative instinct, has expressed her desire to turn a director soon.

The 26-year old actress, who had earlier done brief roles in Ivan Thanthiran and Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, got the offer to play the heroine for the first time in a Tamil film in Vikram Vedha. She has since proved her potential as a serious actress who is capable of taking on any role(s) and do full justice to it. She plays the heroine in the upcoming film Richie which marks Mollywood’s Nivil Pauli’s Kollywood debut as hero.

“I’ve always been interested in acting on stage. I’m also interested in making works of craft such as new things out of bottles and a few other stationery items. I have always considered myself not as an actress but as a very humble human being. When I was acting in plays on stages, I used to keenly look at others to spot their mistakes and help them in getting those flaws rectified.

“This has obviously made me feel I can direct films; I have a script of my own making and may turn director in the next few years,” says the actress, who completed her graduation in law in Bangalore. Shraddha also takes pride in gifting to her close friends and relatives her own hand-made products of work of art and craft on their birthdays and anniversaries.
