Cinematographer Dinesh Babu turns director for trilingual Krishnam

After the likes of Balu Mahendra, Ashok Kumar and K.V. Anand, yet another cinematographer is turning film-maker. It is now the turn of cameraman Dinesh Bahu to direct his first film titled as Krishnam.

Produced by PNP Cinemas, Krishnam is to be made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, thus becoming a trilingual venture. Akshay Krishnan, Aishwarya and Mamitha Bajju play prominent roles in the film. Dinesh, who has cinematographed several Malayalam and Kannada films, in the past, speaks about his debut venture.

“The film’s script is about the incidents which occur in an youth’s life; these are real-life incidents. When I attempted to find a hero to play the protagonist, I couldn’t find a suitable actor and finally zeroed in on Akshay Krishnan, the youth who underwent the above experiences in his real life. Akshay would thus be enacting the experiences that he actually faced in his life.

“Actress Santhi Krishna (of Panneer Pushpangal fame) makes a comeback to Tamil films with Krishnam. As Akshay had personal experience about the script’s content, he has essayed his role beautifully with not much help from the crew members. I’m sure we have done a fabulous job,” says Dinesh, who cinematographed Uyire Unakkaga and Unakkagave Vaazhgiren in the past.
