Actor-director Selva, younger brother of actor Dr. Rajasekar, has revealed many a time in the past that he was a great fan of superstar Rajinikanth. Selva, who has starred in many films in lead roles, has also directed a film titled Golmaal.
Selva’s second directorial venture, which puts him behind the camera as director after a long time, has been titled as 12.12.1950, the date of birth of superstar Rajinikanth. “The film’s script is about a die-hard fan of Rajini Sir,” he adds. The film’s motion poster, introduced a few days back by Sivakarthikeyan, found immediate response among movie-goers and Rajini’s millions of fans.
“The film would not only celebrate Rajini Sir’s unmatched achievements but would glorify his birth. It’s a film about his fan. Rajini Sir’s achievements have been inspiring many like me and the film deals in an emotion-filled manner the bonding he shares with his millions of fans. We haven’t used any of Rajini Sir’s famed punch dialogues. We all treat him like a ‘box-office God’.
“In the film, his fan faces a situation wherein he doesn’t get to watch Rajini Sir’s film on the opening day. Rest of the events in the film is about the circumstances which forced him to skip watching the film on the first day and how he reacts to it.
I play the lead role while Thambi Ramaiah, M.S. Bhasker, Delhi Ganesh, John Vijay, Ramesh Thilak, Ponnambalam, Aadhavan, Saminathan, Risha and Prashant form the cast,” concludes Selva.
