It is said that superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film 2.0, directed by Kollywood’s show-man Shankar, would be releasing simultaneously in 16 languages and in more than 11,000 halls across various States in the country.
The colossal success of S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 has, no doubt, put pressure on the crew of Rajini’s 2.0 to deliver the goods. Rajini has essayed dual roles of a ‘robot’ and a scientist, replicating his role(s) in the prequel Enthiran: The Robot which released in 2010. Aishwarya Rai was paired up opposite Rajini in the sequel while Amy Jackson plays a major role in 2.0. Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar is the antagonist.
Shankar’s crew has been working with a singular objective of making the film an unique one in the country’s film history by making the compute graphics-generated sequences in the film appear as realistic as possible. It is also planned to release the film in more than 100 countries and simultaneously in 15 languages.
It would also be the first film to release in more than 11,000 halls across the country and elsewhere. The Chinese-dubbed version is also to release on the same day i.e. during Pongal next year as it would considerably increase the total number of halls in which the film is releasing.
If released simultaneously in China, 2.0 might equal the record of Hollywood blockbuster Avatar as far the number of halls are concerned.
