Prabhudheva – Tamannaah Bhatia’s Hindi project Khamoshi, a remake of Nayanthara’s Kolaiyuthir Kaalam is the first Indian movie to be shot with an 8K camera.

The film marks the Bollywood debut of Indo-American filmmaker Chakri Toleti, who had made Kamal Haasan starrer Telugu thriller Unnai Pol Oruvan which was the first Indian film to be entirely shot on 4K resolution.

“Since the dynamic range of each image increases, there’s a special focus on costumes, makeup and detailing on sets,” says Chakri in a statement.

Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment says, ”I have always believed in trying something new with every film and concepts like Khamoshi are very international with the young getting to watch so many TV series online we need to constantly innovate and give our audience value for their money, even though it is a cost, I wanted the audience to experience the 8k format clarity and largeness on digital spaces and elsewhere.”
