Actress Regina Cassandra, the picture-perfect Tamil-origin actress, has said that she always chooses her on-screen characters if only those characters appealed to her instinct.
Chennai-born Regina, who debuted in Tamil films as a 16-year old teenager in the Prasanna-Laila starrer Kanda Naal Mudhal in 2005, didn’t taste success soon after her debut but waited patiently for the same. Thanks to her perseverance and hard-work, she has come to be known as an actress of substance in Tamil and Telugu films.
Her latest film Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen has been declared as a ‘hit’ film and surprisingly enough, she has as many as four Tamil films in various stages of production, thus making her a frontline actress. Possessing a perfect figure, Regina attributes her shape to her planned diet, regular exercises, yoga, meditation, (drinking) lots of water and juice.
“I don’t opt to look glmaourous or don glam-filled clothes; I take on my role or do a particular sequence only if it appeals to my instinct. If something doesn’t look okay, I don’t take up the offer at all,” says Regina, born to a Kannadiga mother and a north-Indian father. “I’m busy with my life as an actress and has no time to look after my personal needs and requirements,” she laughs.
