Reports emanating from Kollywood say that Devi Sri Prasad has replaced Harris Jayaraj as the music director in director Hari’s upcoming Saamy sequel.
Hari is all set to commence work on his next project Saammy 2, sequel to his Saamy which he made 14 years ago. Shibu Thameem would be the producers of the film which would have Vikram essaying the role of cop ‘Aaruchamy’ again with Trisha and Keerthy Suresh to keep him company.
Saamy did wonders to Vikram’s career and he was the obvious choice as the hero when Hari wanted to make a sequel. However, Trisha (who is at the fag end of her career) stepping in as heroine didn’t go down well with Hari and Vikram’s fans and the director has now ‘compensated’ by signing young gun Keerthy as the other heroine.
Contrary to earlier reports which said Harris Jayaraj, who had scored super-hit songs in Saamy would be working in Saamy 2 as well, it now turns out that Devi Sri Prasad of Singam series of films made by Hari has stepped in as the films’ music director. This would be the fifth time that DSP would be working alongside Hari.
