S.S. Rajamouli’s enchanting Baahubali 2, which marches towards an all-time Indian record, has grossed an unbelievable Rs.800 crores in its first 7 days in theatres!
The Prabhas-Tamannaah-Rana Daggubati-Anushka Shetty-Ramya Krishnan starrer, whose prequel Baahubali released in 2015, has even beated direct Hindi films in theatrical collections in its first few days. Tamil and Hindi dubbed versions of the film released along with the original Telugu version last Friday (28th April).
The first-day’s box-office collections of Rs.121 crores gave a clear hint about what was in the offing. The forward march of the film at the box-office has continued in its second week and the film has collected Rs.860 crores in its first week in theatres the world over. As reported earlier, it released in more than 6,500 halls across the globe.
Baahubali 2 has, thus, beaten the collective records held thus far by the triumvirate of Khan’s in Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan – as it has collected more money during the corresponding period than by any film starring any of these heroes managed to collect till date!
