Rajini’s absence makes Vijay feel confident about releasing film on Deepavali

Superstar Rajinikanth’s absence at the box-office during Deepavali later this year has brightened the chances of Vijay’s upcoming Atlee-directed film hitting the screens on that day.

It was announced by makers of Rajini’s upcoming film 2.0 (sequel to the 2010 super-hit film Enthiran: The Robot) that the film would be releasing not during Deepavali but only during Pongal next year (2018). Rajini’s absence at the box-office has upset his millions of fans, film distributors as well as theatre-owners.

At Vijay’s behest, Atlee Kumar, who is directing Vijay’s 61st film which has a trio of heroines in the form of Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen, is now targeting Deepavli to release the film which was earlier titled tentatively as Moondru Mugam but the same was withdrawn after objections by Rajini’s fans.
