‘Milky beauty’ Tamannaah has conceded that the Tamil remake of the 2014 hit Bollywood film Queen has been shelved for now.
Tamannaah is looking forward to the release of her upcoming film Baahubali 2 which releases in theatres worldwide in a grand manner next Friday (28th April). Sequel to the 2015 colossal hit film Baahubali, the film has become one of the most-awaited films of the year. Huge hype and expectation about the film, said to be grander in nature than the prequel, has already been built up leading to its release next week.
Actor-producer-director Thiagarajan acquired the remake rights of Queen, which gave its heroine Kangna Ranaut second national award for ‘best actress’ and third national award in all. Actress Revathy was to direct the Tamil version for which Nayantara and Trisha were first considered to star in Kangna’s role but the mantle finally fell on Tamannaah’s slender shoulders.
Speaking to newsmen recently, Tamannaah conceded that the Tamil remake of Queen has been shelved for the time being. “The decision (to abandon the remake) was taken only recently. I had to come out with this explanation as plenty had been written about the film in the press.
“After Baahubali, I’m conscious of choosing my roles and opt mostly for heroine-oriented roles. Thankfully, I’m getting them too!” Tamannaah says.
