Disgusting to see men sexually harassing women: Vijay Sethupathi

Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who seldom minces his words while commenting on issues of regional and national interest, has said that it felt very ‘disgusting’ for him to come across men who sexually abuse/harass women.

Vijay Sethupathi’s K.V. Anand-directed Kavan hits the screens across Chennai and elsewhere in the State. The actor was speaking to newsmen on the eve of release of his film but instead of limiting himself to discussing about the film, he also spoke about the recent increasing instances of sexual abuse/assault of women in general and girls in particular.

Of late, actresses have been coming out in the open spilling the beans about producrs and others demanding sex from them in favour of casting them in their films. Speaking to newsmen, Vijay Sethupathi said “Actresses have been speaking about cases of sexual harassment/abuse; not only actresses but women and girls face harassment wherever they go. Even girls face this problem which is very disturbing.

“We should learn to think of all girls and women as future mothers; would we be here in the Universe without our mothers? Men should lean to treat women with dignity and should never force anything on them. In fact, I personally feel disgusting to come across or talk to men who have sexually harassed women/girls,” Sethupathi concluded.
