Tamannaah to pair up opposite Vishnu Vishal in Tamil remake of Pelli Choopulu

‘Milky beauty’ Tamannaah is all set to pair up opposite Vishnu Vishal in an upcoming Tamil film which would be the remake of last year’s super-hit Telugu film Pelli Choopulu.

Starring Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma in the lead and directed by debutant director Tarun Bhascker, the film released last July in theatres and achieved instant success. Shot with a meager budget of Rs.1.35 crores, it collected more than Rs.40 crores at the box-office in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana.

Ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon acquired the Tamil remake rights of Pelli Choopulu which is now being produced by him with the title Penn Ondru Kandaen. Vishnu Vishal, who has been signed up as the hero, gets to romance ‘milky beauty’ Tamannaah for the first time on-screen in this film to be directed by Senthil Ramasamy.

Tamannaah has gone on record stating that her long-standing dream of starring in a Gautham Menon film has been realized with Penn Ondru Kandaen. Menon, though, isn’t directing the film. “Few directors have understood and depicted romantic scripts on-screen better than Menon,” Tamannaah has opined.
