Senior journalist Pramod has spilled the beans about the much-publicized and much-maligned ‘Bharatnatyam’ dance recital by Aishwarya, superstar Rajinikanth’s eldest daughter, at the United Nations in New York last week.
It was widely reported that Aishwarya was a ‘special invitee’ to dance at the Women’s Day celebrations organized at the U.N. During her dance recital, however, she drew a lot of flak for not dancing in the conventional manner to a classic Karnatic song and choosing instead a poem penned by Vairamuthu. Anitha Ratnam, a popular danseuse, was among those who criticized Aishwarya for her ‘pathetic’ attempt.
Rajini’s fans have not reacted hugely to the dismal performance of their Thalaivar’s daughter but netizens have taken her to task. In this backdrop, senior journalit Pramod based in New York has spilled the bean on his Twitter account by stating that he was upset that Aishwarya had created an image as if she was invited by the U.N. like it invited the legendary M.S. Subbulakshmi and Sudha Ragunathan in the past.
“It’s an event organized not by U.N. but by the Indian mission at U.N. as well as the Indian Embassy official. The event was held at a part of the U.N. building where any member-country of U.N. can hold cultural events,” Pramod wrote and pulled up Aishwarya for not revealing this to her friends, relatives, fans and to the people.
