In yet another pre-release record of a Rajini-starrer, superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film 2.0 has been insured for a whopping amount of Rs.350 crores.
No film in any language in India has been insured for such a premium amount. Insuring films was an unheard of concept a few years earlier but producers and heroes don’t want to risk their hard-work and have started insuring films in a manner similar to properties and belongings.
Leading insurance companies are willingly taking up insuring films. It may be recalled that Rajini’s 2010 colossal hit film Enthiran: The Robot (prequel to 2.0) was also insured for Rs.100 crores, which was considered a ‘huge amount’ during that time. Later, S.S. Rajamouli followed suit and insured his 2015 multi-starrer super-duper hit film Baahubali for Rs.110 crores.
By getting insured for Rs.350 crores, 2.0 has broken the record held thus far by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s P.K. which was insured for Rs.300 crores a few years back.
