Arvind Swamy for President’s rule to be enforced in the State

Actor Arvind Swamy has said that the present political scenario in the State gave only two options for the administrators: either to implement President’s rule in the State or to order immediate Assembly by-polls.

Tamil Nadu’s fast-changing political scenario in the past few days has made the whole of India pay attention to the overtures made by Sasikala, former aide of former chief-minister J. Jayalalitha, and incumbent chief-minister O. Panneerselvam, in wresting control of ruling AIADMK and with it the Government.

Tweeting on his Twitter account, Arvind Swamy wondered how the vote of confidence in the State Legislative Assembly would turn out to be fair that amid allegations that MLAs have been isolated and acting in a biased manner.

“In my opinion, either implementing President’s rule or ordering Assembly by-polls would be the right alternative,” Swamy tweeted in the latest of his series of tweets on the political scenario in the State.
