Actor Vijay’s fans want him to choose the title of his films in such a manner that they end with ‘i’ and not with ‘a’ when they are written in English.
Film-making and artistes have long been bound by some inexplicable and mostly meaningless sentiments. Whether Vijay wants it or not, his fans too have become sentimental as they expect him to be ‘careful’ in choosing the title of his future films in such a manner that they end with an ‘a’ or ‘i’!
They refer to films of the actor such as Suraa, Jilla, Thalaiva and his latest film Bairavaa, all of whom ended with the letter ‘a’ and didn’t manage to do great business at the box-office at the time of their theatrical releases. They refer to films such as Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, Kushi, Ghilli, Tirupachi, Sivakasi, Pokkiri, Thuppakki, Kaththi and Theri which end with the letter ‘i’.
What the fans have conveniently missed out in the list of failed projects are films such as Aadhi, Kuruvi and Puli whose titles ended with ‘i’ but the films still bombed at the box-office. Vijay’s detractors urge the star to choose films with solid scripts instead of bothering much with the titles and their spellings!
