Trisha to face the axe from Saamy remake?

It is rumoured strongly in Kollywood circles that the ageing Trisha, who manages to keep a slender frame but is unable to keep the wrinkles off her eyes, might not be part of director Hari’s scheme of things when he launches his Saamy sequel.

Released in May 2003, Saamy turned out to be a highly significant hit film for Triha, Vikram and director Hari as it ran for more than 100 days at many centres. Vikram’s cop act, Trisha’s innocent portrayal of her character and Hari’s sleek direction along with Harris Jayaraj’s peppy songs had contributed to the film’s huge success.

Hari now plans to make a sequel 14 years after the release of prequel even as his S3, the third film on the Singam franchise involving him and Suriya, is all set to release in theatres the day-after-tomorrow (Republic Day – 26th January).

It is said that Vikram, busy with the shoot of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Dhuruva Natchithiram, might commit himself to star in Hari’s Saamy sequel in a few weeks’ time. Hari is yet to decide on whether to retain Trisha as the heroine or not. It now turns out that he may not opt for her in view of the recent controversy involving Trisha and PeTA and her reported remarks against Jallikkattu!
