Trisha has resumed the shooting schedule of her upcoming film Garjanai, the Tamil remake of the super-hit Hindi film NH10 which starred hottie Anushka Sharma (better known as girlfriend of India’s cricket captain Virat Kohli) in the lead.
The shoot of the film has been going on in Karaikudi at present. Vamsi Krishna, who has played the antagonist in many films with aplomb, and small-screen’s Amit Bhargav play the male leads in the film which has Sriranjani and Vadivukkarasi in prominent roles. Debutant Sundar is the director of the film; he also pens the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film whose shoot commenced late last eyar.
Billed as an adventure-thriller, the film has Trisha essaying a very different role as compared to her latest film Kodi which had her essaying the role of a politician. Triha has referred to Garjanai on her Twitter account and has said that “I’m essaying a powerful role in the film and this could become a prelude to many such interesting roles that I might take up in future!”
The film’s crew, however, deny that the film isn’t a remake of the Hindi film but is only ‘loosely based’ on its script. It may be recalled that NH10 itself was inspired by a hit Hollywood film.
