Pooja feels Kollywood needs more female script-writers

Actress Pooja Devariya is of the opinion that more and more number of female script-writers is the need of the hour for Tamil cinema as only they can get comfortably into the psyche of a girl/woman in trouble and make perfect scripts for heroine-oriented films.

The actrss has had a satisfying year in 2016 which draws to a close tomorrow as she has had three films of her releasing in the form of Iraivi, Aandavan Kattalai and Kuttramey Dhandanai. She has Vallavanukku Vallavan and Andhra Mess besides two more films which are expected to hit the screen in 2017.

“Actually, numbers don’t matter to me; I had three of my releasing last year and feel satisfied as having been part of good films. I want to take one thing at a time an don’t want to rush up things. I have been hearing many more scripts and hopefully, I’d get to star in more interesting projects in the New Year.

Scripts of heroine-oriented films are best written by women who would have had personal experiences of many crises. No doubt the need of the hour for the industry is to have more female script-writers,” says Pooja.

The actress would also be showing her ‘rough’ side in performing some realistic-looking action sequences in Vallavanukku Vallavan which has Bobby Simha and Sshivada Nair as her co-stars. She credits her ‘sports background’ for not finding the action sequences tough. “I didn’t train in any martial art form but my determination to stay in shape sure helped while shooting the stunt sequences,” adds Pooja.
