Talented ‘Tamil’ actress Chandini Tamilarasan looks forward to the ensuing new year 2017 with lots of optimism as she has quite a few promising projects on hand.
The actress, who debuted in K. Bhagyaraj’s direction as his son and actor Shantanoo’s heroine in Siddhu Plus Two a few years back, was brimming with confidence during a recent chat with presspersons. She has as many as half-a-dozen films on her hands and she is more than confident that 2017 might just turn out to be her year of reckoning in Kollywood.
Chandini is Vidharth’s heroine in Vandi and Vemal’s heroine in Mannar Vagera; besides, she has Kattappaava Kaanom with Sibiraj and the soon-to-be-released Ennodu Vilaiyaadu opposite Bharath. “I have taken on roles of substance in these films so that they don’t look repetitive,” she asserts and adds that she plays a teacher in Kaadhal Munnetra Kazhagam set in 80’s and a character-driven role in Naan Avalai Sandhithapodhu whose script is set in the 90’s.
“I have been watching films of yesteryears so as to prepare myself to play my roles in the above-said films. In Vandi, I play a fully deglamourized role of a housing board resident while in Kattappaava Kaanom, I play a typical urban girl and obviously, I look glamourous in the film’s promotional stills. Being busy with the shoot of films is what I had always wanted and I have no complaints whatsoever,” she adds with a smile.
