Contrary to earlier situation, it now appears that Vijay would find the going ‘tough’ at the box-office when his upcoming film Bairavaa hits the screens across Tamil Nadu and elsewhere during Pongal next month.
At least 3-4 films, as of now, would be vying with Vijay’s new film for Pongal honours at the box-office. Suriya’s S3, Selvaraghavan’s Nenjam Marappadhillai, G.V. Prakash Kumar’s Bruce Lee and Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film Kaidhi No.150 are set to release on Pongal Day in January.
Bharathan (of Azhagiya Tamizh Magan) has directed Vijay in Bairavaa which pits him opposite Keerthy Suresh for the first time. Sathish is the main comedian in the film which has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
This is the 60th film in Vijay’s career spanning more than two decades. Selvaraghavan’s S.J. Suryah-Regina Cassandra-Nandita Swetha starrer Nenjam Marappadhillai will also release on the same day.
Suriya’s much-delayd Hari-directed S3 (third film in the Singam sequel) may also release on Pongal after missing its release date in theatres at least twice for various reasons. G.V. Prakash Kumar-Kriti Kharbanda’s Bruce Lee, directed by Prasanth Pandiarajan, and Chiranjeevi’s Kaidi No.150 (in its Tamil-dubbed version), are also set to release on Pongal.
