2D Entertainment’s executive producer pens a moving note on Suriya’s persistence

Suriya who went to pay his last respects to ex-CM Jayalalitha at Rajaji Hall yesterday had to face a testing experience to make it through. Sivakumar, due to the unprecedented crowd, had to head back home disappointed.

Rajasekarpandian, the executive producer of 2D Entertainment, has penned a moving note on Suriya’s persistence to pay his final tribute to Amma.

“We landed at Chennai airport and drove straight to Rajaji Hall. Sivakumar uncle and Brindha (Suriya’s sister) joined us enroute. We reached the back gate amidst sea of people and cars and started walking from a distance.

By the time we were near the gate, we were told that the gate was closed because the PM’s Convoy
was about to arrive any minute. We couldn’t stay there for too long as the crowd was getting restless. We waited in the car for the Prime Minister to leave after paying his respects.

There were so many people, those who were helping us and those who just came in front of us to take a selfie!

I must salute the police force, without them we would not have made it. Suriya had to walk more than a km from Kalaivanar Arangam to Rajaji hall, making his way through the heavy crowd. And l had to run to match to his speed. As we reached the back stairs of Rajaji Hall, all I could see were heads, a boy fell down in the marching crowd and Suriya stopped to give him a hand.

All I could think of at that moment was, will we make it to the front in one piece! There was almost a stampede when we reached the front corridor where the lron Lady was laid.

However, Suriya insisted that we don’t turn back and kept literally sailing through the huge crowd. We were pushed to the side wall and crushed by 500 people behind us, who were trying to get a glimpse of their beloved leader, Ministers Bureaucrats, Celebrities, Businessmen, Politicians, Party Cadres, Police & Public every one..!!

I tried my best to keep my head up, but I almost fainted and blacked out in the process, before someone pulled me to the other side. But, Suriya with his persistence made it to pay his respects. Persistence always wins. Like the legend herself, who was a perfect example. Respects to the Lioness who roared for the people…!!,” his note read.
