Ramachandran, grandson of the late and legendary MGR, who ruled the film industry as well as the political arena like an ‘emperor’, is making his debut as hero in Tamil films with an upcoming film titled as Odu Kumar Odu which seeks to harp in detail about the intimacy which should prevail between couples and the ills they might face once this intimacy goes out of the window.
A couple which works in the IT industry has a goody-goody life which gets into turmoil forcing the wife to file for divorce from her husband. On his part, the husband holds the institution of family and marriage in high esteem and refuses to agree to divorce her.
After some heated argument, the wife gets murdered and the husband is framed for her murder. What happens next forms the crux of the story directed by debutant director Sivasankar Mani with a crisp screenplay.
The film is mostly a travelling story on the lines of films such as Chennai To Bangalore and Paiyaah. MGR’s grandson debuts with the name of his illustrious grandfather and has a couple of heroines for company. The shoot of the film commences later this week at Ramavaram Gardens, the residence for many years of the late MGR, in Chennai.
The first-look poster of the film was released by actor-producer Vijay Sethupathi last week. Mani pens the story, screenplay and dialogues besides directing the film which has music by Amar Keerthi. Vivek Antony is the cinematographer while Venkatesh is the editor of the film produced by M. Kumar.
